The Halfway Crooks are a band at the start of a unique blend of reggae-rock, live hip-hop, and ska from Yonkers, New York. They came together in early 2004, mixing several musical elements together in a style thatcan only be described by hearing it: soulful and grooving rock, reggae, ska, hip-hop, and funk rhythms; overlapped by smooth melodies, melodic raps, and infectious hooks; sporadically accompanied by guest lyricists and vocalists, as well as brass instruments and percussion; culminating with insightful and memorable lyrics that paint a picture, bound to stick in your head.

Following a path of originality, similar to the influences of Sublime, The Roots, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Halfway Crooks blend several layers that equally appeal to fans of many genres, people of different cultures, and ages spanning from Generation Y to the Baby-Boomers, widening their potential audience to no limits.

The average Joe will always stop on a radio station for a good one-liner hook, and music lovers everywhere welcome the improvisational element and eclectic sounds that the Halfway Crooks' music exhibits.

The group is known for their energetic performances and stage antics, which makes every show a party within itself. They strive to make their audience more than just onlookers as they do whatever it takes to get their audience as involved as possible. The Halfway Crooks have made an impression on many NY bar, club and college scenes, festivals, charity events and private parties, as well as world famous NYC clubs such as CBGB's. They were also the winners of the 2006 Battle of the Bands held by ‘The Bayou’ in Mt. Vernon, NY. In the past year, the Crooks have expanded through the Northeast gigging in Philly, D.C., Massachusetts, and Vermont, bringing their music toa wider audience.

With the release of the new album "Raise the Bar" on 12/31/07, the Halfway Crooks have proved they are a band that stands out from the rest and have a bright future ahead.
